We have a surprise addition to our Festival entertainment this coming weekend, as the amazing Palestinian musician Zaid Hilal takes the stage at The Ro Hotel in Bowness-on-Windermere on Saturday, offering a night filled with energy, great vibes, and pure talent!

Zaid is appearing at the Lakes International Comic Art Festival ahead of his UK tour, so we’re chuffed to bits we – and you – will have the chance to see him first!

Zaid Jamal Hilal is a Palestinian musician from Beit Sahour, Palestine whose passion for music began at an early age, joining the Edward Said National Conservatory of Music at the age of eight. Zaid has participated in several artistic and musical activities and projects locally and internationally which made him make good relationships with musicians from around the world and good music background. He has played with a number of Palestinians and international musicians and bands and, in 2016, formed his band and started composing his own songs, and touring inside and outside the country.

This special event will showcase a captivating blend of traditional Palestinian songs that delve into the rich history and cultural heritage of Palestine. Hilal, known for his original compositions, will present pieces that reflect the deep emotional and historical landscape of his homeland.

The performance will not only highlight his evocative songwriting but also provide an immersive experience into the stories and traditions that have shaped Palestinian music. Attendees can expect a poignant and memorable evening that bridges cultural gaps and celebrates the enduring spirit of Palestinian artistry.
