First Time Festival - Family Itinerary Ideas!

Are you coming to the Lakes International Comic Art Festival for the first time? Are you coming with your children?

Well, we've come up with a First Timers Family Itinerary that may help you navigate your way around our annual event now you have blought your tickets. (You have bought your tickets, right?)

We hope this gives you an idea about many of the things we're putting on for kids (of all ages!), and gives you a steer to make the most of your Festival visit!

Saturday – Doctor Who Exhibition
10am – 10.30am

An exhibition at Windermere Jetty Museum to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Doctor Who comics. Have a look at comics featuring every major Doctor, plus the first ever Doctor Who strip from 1964. Plus there will be some newly designed monsters! There may also be actual Daleks! Watch out!

Little LICAF Workshop/Free activities for Under 12s 
10.30am – 11.30amand 11.30am – 12.30pm, at Windermere Jetty Museum

Free and fabulous workshops for under 12s, presented by some of our comic artist guests. Keep an eye on our website and social media to see who will be presenting,  and when. Hosted by Marc Jackson and Room4Comics.  Free activities around the Jetty Museum including face painting, badge making and activity sheets.

Lunch (Dinner if you are Northern)
1230pm – 1pm ish

Grab some lunch from the Jetty Museum Café, bring a picnic, or head into town to look for something to eat…

Comic Marketplace, Dickie Geocaching
1pm ish – 4pm Around The Glebe

Head to The Glebe where you will find our Comic Marketplace on the tennis courts. Browse dozens of tables from creators, publisher and shops.

Plus, try the free Dickie Geocaching (like a digital treasure hunt) – starting at the Tourist Info Centre, approximately 45 minutes waking with free stickers from the TIC if completed.

Doctor Who Event
4.00am – 5.00pm

at Old Laundry Theatre

Be part of the creation of a special Doctor Who comic strip using the winning monster from our Festival monster challenge competition! Watch as panels are drawn and the story is created with the help of the audience!
