Which were your favourite animated cartoons of you childhood? In a special episode of the Lakes International Comic Art Festival Podcast, co-hosts Nicole Bates and Ian Loxam spend a little time talking about their favourite animated TV shows and movies from their childhood all the way through until now.
This trip down memory lane was prompted by the debut of Masters of the Universe – Revelation, currently on Netflix, which Ian and Nikki also discuss and review – and blimey, Nikki has a right old rant about some of the storylines – no spoilers here, but she’s not happy! But we laughed out loud at her description of some of the female characters as drawn as “men with hair”… and as for angst in comics and cartoons, we get the message, Nikki… we need more happy comics!
Do have a listen, and you’ll hear how “Getting Animated” has more than one meaning!
Plus, Mike Williams and Pete Taylor are back, with more Yakapedia, talking about the use of reference in comics.
Ian and Nikki also talk about the full programme for this year’s upcoming Lakes International Comic Art Festival (15th 17th October, in Kendal), with tickets on sale now! Don’t miss out…
