Episode 47 marks the Lakes International Comic Art Festival Podcast's two year anniversary show. The ace team, led by Ian Loxam and Nikki Bates. have been on the air twice a month for two whole years - and what a time it’s been.
They've done an incredible job, offering a podcast packed with interviews with a huge variety of comic creators, relentlessly promoted the Festival, reviewed countless comics, graphic novels and more - and all with a wonderful sense of gentle fun and masses of enthusiasm. Our thanks to them, and Pete Taylor and Mike Williams, too.
We're more than happy to listen to them "waffle on", as they describe it, about what they’ve enjoyed and learnt during the time. Congratulations to the team for their dedication and hard work!
This edition also offers a great chat with Dave Cook, who’s brand new book, Killtopia Volume 2, hit Kickstarter as this podcast launched - and is already and deservedly very much fully funded, smashing its target with ease with over 20 days to go before the appeal ends.
Ian and Nikki discuss video games, how he got into writing and Killtopia itself.
Mike Williams and Pete Taylor bring forth another bumper session of "Mutterdowns" as they chat about Swords vs Sorcery …. and this is only part one of that chat.
There's also news of a competition coming up to win copies of Lyndon White's books - and check out his up coming Kickstarter. Plus, there's reviews of The Magic Order by Mark Millar and Olivier Coipel, and Dunce by Jens K Styve.
Finally, in Lakes International Comic Festival news the team discuss the new Breakthrough project which is open for non processional creators to join an 18 month comic creation process ending being published in a new graphic novel.
